March 2012 Announcements

A few announcements:

Mar -2012
PHP 5.4 has been released.

The PHP development team is proud to announce the immediate availability of PHP 5.4.0. This release is a major leap forward in the 5.x series, which includes a large number of new features and bug fixes. Some of the key new features include: traits, a shortened array syntax, a built-in webserver for testing purposes and more. PHP 5.4.0 significantly improves performance, memory footprint and fixes over 100 bugs.

For users upgrading from PHP 5.3 there is a migration guide available here

Per Usual for managed dedicated clients we will not upgrade you to the latest PHP tree unless you specifically ask us to.

PHP 5.3 is still in development and curtly only available for those who run PHP from source on DirectAdmin control panels for those who currently run cPanel the release date for PHP 5.4 has not been announced.

For those clients still running PHP 5.2 it has been End of Life for almost 9 months now if you are currently running in your dedicated environment managed clients will no longer receive any proactive updates from us (essentially leaving an important part of your web server insecure)

For Shared hosting clients we will continue to run PHP Version 5.3 until cPanel officially supports it.

WHMCS V5.X - Now Available!
WHMCS Version 5 is all packaged up and ready to go...

We've reached every goal we set ourselves for Version 5, tested it thoroughly for the past 6 weeks (special thanks go to every one of our beta testing team who have helped with finding issues and providing their feedback), written clear and detailed documentation for all of the new features, improved our existing documentation where possible; we've also found time to rebrand and update the look of our own website to better showcase what we do and what we're all about, and here we are, finally ready to reveal what we've been working on to the world at large...

We're really excited about this release, more so than any release we've ever done before, and we know a lot of you are too! So without further delay, I want to introduce you to our WHMCS V5 Release Announcement PDF, which showcases everything we've been working so hard on for the past 5 months. As you'll see, there's quite a lot!
